Prior to its launch, I worked as a financial liaison within the government involved regular interaction with small businesses, particularly those navigating federal requirements, indirect rate structures, and contract‑driven reporting expectations. This role provided a clear view of the challenges small organizations face when managing their financial records, preparing billing, and maintaining compliant accounting practices.
During this period, opportunities to present at professional forums — including a Chamber of Commerce event in Washington, DC — highlighted the need for accessible, accurate financial guidance tailored to small business operations. Those engagements reinforced the gap between what small businesses were expected to produce and the tools or knowledge they actually had available
